LAKKI MARWAT: The Islamic Studies and Research Department has been inaugurated
at the
and Technology, Bannu.
The university’s founding Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Asmatullah Khan opened
the department at a ceremony held on the premises of the university. Registrar
Abdullah Khan and deans of faculties Dr Muhammad Ayub and Dr Saeed Ahmad were
among those who attended the event.
Dr Asmatullah said the university was providing quality education and research
facilities to the youth of southern districts and adjacent tribal areas. He
said the Islamic Studies and Research department would help provide
research-based religious education to the students and produce qualified
scholars to promote tolerance and interfaith harmony among various communities.
He said MPhil evening programme of Islamic Studies would be launched from
October this year. “It will provide an opportunity to the in-service and
working teachers to avail the facility,” he added.
